Never Forget
Educating the public on Japanese Internment
Bringing current social issues to light through past events
My Aim
Japanese internment is a forgotten part of American history. During WWII, over 110,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans were locked up simply on account of race. My goal is to educate the public on what really happened to the Japanese for those 3 important years. The problems from back then are still prevalent today, and we need your help to prevent something like this from happening in the future.
Angel Island
During WWII Angel Island acted as a short term stop for Japanese from Hawai'i before they were sent to the mainland, or for Japanese being transferred between Department of Justice Internment Camps. They offer tours of the buildings, which have been recreated, as well as information on the writings left on the walls from immigrants and internees.
