What You Can Do To Help

While the Japanese Americans have largely been able to escape the prejudice they faced during WWII, other minorities still face discrimination today. The problems of the past are once again resurfacing, as people are discriminated against and killed based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, and other differentiating factors. However, you can do your part by donating or volunteering at these organizations to help erase the stigma and make sure no one is ever locked up based on race again.

Color of Change

Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.

We help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force driven by more than 1.5 million members, we move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.

People's kitchen Collective

​People’s Kitchen Collective is a food-centered, Oakland-based political education project offering educational workshops, exhibitions, and community dining events to discuss social justice issues.

Mandela Grocery Cooperative

Mandela Grocery Cooperative is a worker-owned grocery store located in West Oakland working to strengthen and diversify the local economy. They source from local entrepreneurs and farmers in California with a focus on black and brown farmers and food makers. Their Karma Jar fund helps people in need purchase food.

The Lgbtq youth space

The LGBTQ Youth Space is a Program of Family & Children Services and Caminar.

We are a community drop-in center and mental health program for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and ally youth and young adults ages 13-25 who live in Santa Clara County.

The mission of the Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley is to help ensure the survival and healing of American Indians/Alaskan Natives and our community by providing high quality, comprehensive health care and wellness services. We focus on holistic services, health education and American Indian values such as healing the whole family.

The National Lawyers Guild provides legal support to help people’s struggles for economic and social justice. The Bay Area chapter is providing help for those protesting and organizing against injustice, including offering a legal hotline.
